Larner Vineyards Transverse Syrah Wine from Santa Barbara County, 2014
90 Points, Vinous, Antonio Galloni. "Larner's 2014 Transverse (Syrah) is sweet, forward and quite expressive. Ripe dark cherry, plum, spice, new leather and menthol are front and center. Succulent and juicy, the 2014 is an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next 2-3 years. A drop of whole clusters adds aromatic lift, but the style is very much fruit driven."
91 Points, Wine Enthusiast.
From the winery: "A blend of Syrah from four estates in Santa Barbara County; Coquelicot vineyard in the Santa Ynez AVA, Verna's vineyard in the Santa Barbara County AVA, Rodney's vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley AVA and Star Lane vineyard in the Happy Canyon AVA".
"The wine was assembled after 14 months of barrel ageing in Neutral French Oak Puncheons, followed by a minimum of 4 months in bottle before release".
